Doobie ist eine Slang-Bezeichnung für einen Zwei-Blatt-Joint. Angeblich fiel bei einer gemütlichen Kiffer-Runde irgendwann der Satz: „Now we’re all doobie brothers“, prompt wurde die Band benannt – in The Doobie Brothers.
